Overview of Amrit Udyan

Amrit Udyan, formerly known as Mughal Gardens,located in Rashtrapati Bhavan (President's Palace), New Delhi-110 004, is a beautiful and historic garden complex in India. Designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens, the gardens of Rashtrapati Bhavan display a blend of Indian landscaping and British architectural styles, with symmetrical layouts, flowing water channels and carefully groomed lawns. There are a variety of flowers, including coleus, celosia and tuberose, that make the garden colourful. The garden also has some special attractions such as: Char Bagh Design: Amrit Udyan is spread over 15 acres and has several sections such as buildings and gardens in a classic Mughal Garden architectural style, dividing the place into four distinct quadrants.

1.Beautiful Landscaping: Amrit Udyan has a mix of Mughal, Indian and European gardening styles, which is worth seeing

2. Variety of Flowers and Trees: The garden has an impressive collection of flowers, trees and shrubs, including rare and exotic species. Which is shown in the photo.

Important Details & Best Time to Visit:  

            Open from Tuesday to Sunday (closed on Mondays for maintenance)

            Timings: 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Last Entry at 4:00PM)

            Amrit Udyan is open to the public during the spring and summer months (February to May) in the morning or afternoon. Pls before visit check Amrit Udyan is open to the public during month and time.

Amrit Udyan 2025 – Entry and Ticket / Registration Information

            Ticket/Registration fee: Entry is free, but book or print a self-service online entry        

             pass from the ticket machine located near the entrance, fill in the details and submit        

            online, and collect the ticket and print the entry pass

 

            Online Booking or E-Pass in advance in Mobile: Visitors could be book their slots at     

            visit.rashtrapatibhavan.gov.in

            Only Walk-in-Entry/Out: Allowed Gate No. 35 of the Rashtrapati Bhavan, near North   

             Avenue Road.

            Security check: Entry security and bags scanning also we recompensated to deposit   

             bags/luggage in security room while visit.

How to Reach Amrit Udyan (अमृत उद्यान)

            The nearest metro stations are:

            Central Secretariat Metro Station (3 km away) and exit from Gate no-5

            Patel chowk Metro Stadium (2 km away) Entry/exit Gate no-2.

            Shivaji Stadium Metro Stadium (3.5 km away)

Tips:

1. Photography Permission: Visitors are allowed to take photographs but tripods and commercial photography require prior permission from the Administrator Department.

2 Heavy bags/luggage or even your vehicle: Park the vehicle in the parking area and keep the bags in the security deposit section and take a token for the same, there is no charge for the same.

3. Entry is free: Registration at Amrut Udyan is free, however visitors have to register online in advance and can book their spot by visiting visit.rashtrapati bhavan.gov.in.
