Lotus -Temple A Symbol Of House Of Worship And Architecture

Lotus Temple, which is known as “Baha’ ‘i House of Worship“is located in the capital of India at Kalkaji, New Delhi.

The Lotus Temple was completed in Dec 1986 and opened to the public for worship for all religious backgrounds and for prayer, Spirituality and meditation inside the Lotus House, and there are no pictures or statues of any gods built or available in the Bahai House.

In this lotus temple, there are “no idols” in God here.


Design and Temple architecture: The design is inspired by the white lotus flower and designed by Fariborz Sabha, and this white lotus design is symbolic of the thought purity of faith and beauty of many cultures.

Lotus Temple designed a shape of 27 free-standing white marblepetals” from 9 sides as per Baha’i’ beliefs to make a white lotus flower, as you can see in the visual pictures.

Temple campus area: 26 acres with beautiful green gardens.

Outside Design and Construction: Temple Height Approximately 130 Feet with Middle Core Designed by Unique Glass and Steel Roof.

Base structure designed: The temple stands to cover the surrounding greenfield, entrance, and exit area, and the base side is covered with water pools to miniaturize temperature and environmental impact and moreover provide more comfort zones for Tourism -visitors.

Ticket price: free entry (no charges for visitors).

Visitor Guideline:

Photography and videography are not allowed inside the Lotus Temple.

Shoes and slippers are not allowed in the temple area, so you can collect a bag/thaila from the security person and put the shoes in the bag and carry it on with the temple and after faith do the reverse process well.

Must be science maintained inside the Lotus Temple.

Food or snacks are not allowed or eaten in the Lotus Temple campus. We are advised to please eat food/snacks before starting to enter and try to avoid carrying any such food inside.
